A Ride to Del Rio, TN

Thursday, May 3, 2018.  A comfortable mid 60s morning with mid 80s for the day high.  Great day for a ride.  Started out by meeting up with Wendy riding her Trike and having breakfast at Flapjack's Restaurant in Kodak.  Going to be a medium length ride day.

Flapjack's is a chain restaurant with several sites in our area of Sevier County, TN.

Casually making our way Northeast toward Del Rio, TN.

Douglas Lake, approximately 93% full from the summer draw-down for dam repairs.

An over the shoulder shot but my CB antenna centered the lane and blocked most of the view aft.

It's a very easy and nice ride up toward Newport and places Northeast of the house.

Pigeon River and it too is rather full due to the recent rains.

Heading toward the mountains and Del Rio.

After lunch we headed back via a different route after backtracking some from Fox Den.

Hello North Carolina.

Valley riding on a nice late Spring day.  Lots of small farms in this area, some with old stylish farm houses and barns.












Green green grass of Spring along with colorful trees and wildflowers.  It is really a pretty time of the year to see nature.

And then you take the long way back so you can soak up some more wind on the knees.  With all of the daily showers it is difficult to work a rainless ride in so every time there is a dry opening you try to squeeze in a ride.

Today's ride was 128 miles door to door.  Weather was getting a bit warm on the return leg of the trip but not overly so.

A little seat time to some familiar places is enjoyed.  So until the next Valkyrie Adventure, take a ride to nowhere and spend some time just looking.  It helps to relieve the body's stress level.  And do this in a safe manner.
