Fall Album, Seymour to Cherohalla to Cherokee to Seymour, 10-30-19

It was Tuesday, October 30, 2018.  At 7 a.m. the temp was 37 degrees and a nice frost on the vehicles.  At 8:30 a.m. I pushed Sweet Thang out of the garage and dressed in semi-cold weather gear as it was suppose to get to the 60s during the day.  Light fog mostly on the ground, highway clear.  Headed to Seymour Micky D's for coffee with the "Elderlies".  While drinking coffee I noticed the fog had moved in and I could hardly see the store across the highway.  After the second cup of coffee the fog moved out and so did I.  It was 10:00 a.m. and a gorgeous Fall day, a great day for a ride.

This Valkyrie Adventure story is going to be more of a Fall photo album.  I did a loop ride totaling 214 miles door to door.  It took me South to Vonore, TN then SE on 360 to Tellico Plains where I caught the Cherohala Skyway over to NC, along the edge of the mountains through Robbinsville, NC to Bryson City, NC on to Cherokee, NC and then back to the house via US 441 through the National Park and Pigeon Forge, TN to Seymour, the starting point.

Fall colors are not going to be the best for this area as Mother Nature let it stay a bit too warm during the early Fall months.  Up high the leaves have already fallen or been blown off the trees but there is still a lot of color.  It needs to stay dry and cold for the leaves to really show their colors.  I just love the Fall of the year here.

So the story begins heading from Seymour toward Vonore down US 411 through Maryville and onward.  Here's a taste of East TN Fall for your enjoyment.

This is the route traveled today.

The many shades of Autumn.

My Big Red Barn alongside US 411 South of Seymour.

A beautiful old church.
 A beautiful old house.
Mirror finish on the water today.
I wonder if they caught enough for lunch.

Up on the Cherohala.

At one of the turn outs on the Cherohala.

An artist's paint pallet on a rush.
Don't know if the color caused the blur or the speed.  How about the speed with the camera looking sideways.
As you can see, at the higher altitudes the leaves have already gone.  The Cherohala climbs to 5400 ft. elevation.

Interring Cherokee, NC.

Entering the Smoky Mountain National Park from the Cherokee, NC side.

Finally made it back to the Seymour side of TN.  About 5 1.2 hours in the saddle but only 214 miles.  Lots of curves, a couple of mountains crossed and a bunch of hills.  The scenery is always pretty regardless of the season but the Spring and Fall bring out the beauty of the mountains.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing the pictures.  I did while taking them and hope to do it again soon before all of the foliage disappears.

Until the next Adventure story, please take the time to VOTE for the person of your choice, be civil in your actions and discussions, and remember, we do not all look alike and neither do we all think alike.  But we all can be kind to one another.  Ride/drive safe, life lasts longer that way.
